Dr. Andreas Altenburg, MD (b. 1972, Cologne, Germany) is Senior Consultant at the Depts. of Dermatology, Venereology, and Allergology, Städtisches Klinikum Dessau and the Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane. He also serves as Secretary of the International Society for Behçet’s Disease.

Professional Experience:
Since 2017 he serves as Senior Consultant at Städtisches Klinikum Dessau. Previously, he was Chief Physician at Bad Bentheim Specialist Clinic and also practiced at Dessau and Berlin (Charité). His clinical focus includes rare diseases and Adamantiades-Behçet’s Disease. He is a clinical investigator in trials on Behçet’s disease, psoriasis, and other dermatological conditions, and author of clinical guidelines. He studied Medicine at the Universities of Cologne and Bonn.

Qualifications:
Board-certified in Dermatology and Venereology with subspecialty in Allergology. He holds l roles as a Council Member of the International Society for Behçet’s Disease, Secretary of the German Register for Morbus Adamantiades-Behçet, and Founder/Speaker of Psoriasis Network Dessau-Anhalt (PsoNet).
